The Heart Behind ARRK

In 2024, before officially becoming a nonprofit, ARRK was born out of a shared passion for animal rescue among five dedicated individuals in the Bastrop County community. Two public school teachers, a police officer, and two veterinary technicians recognized their mutual commitment to animal advocacy and decided to team up to create a safe haven for animals in need. This diverse team brings a unique blend of skills: compassion, structure, public service, medical expertise, and problem-solving. This allows us to work seamlessly together in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. Today, ARRK operates on a 13-acre sanctuary in Elgin, where animals find refuge, receive necessary medical care, and are nurtured back to health before finding their forever homes.
